Frequently Asked Questions

What is Real Estate photography?

Real estate photography is similar in nature to architectural photography, in that it aims to accurately capture the layout and character of a property, in an effort to visually market this space.

But unlike architectural photography, real estate photography focuses on the size and shape of each space in relation to a property as a whole. It includes interior and exterior shoots as well as the design elements that make the space special.

How long does the process take?

The amount of time required to properly photograph a property can vary by space. The factors to take into account are the size of the property, access to the space, specific design elements, and the time of day. Rule of thumb is to factor in at least 1-2 hours. Actual time can be discussed at our preliminary meeting.

How do I pay for the services?

Please see pricing page for options.

How can I help prepare my space for the session?

The tidier a space is, the better it will photograph. Making sure to declutter a space prior to our session will eliminate unnecessary time spent during the shoot. We’ve prepared a checklist to help you prepare for your shoot, which you can find on our                                         page.

How many photographs will you typically take?

Typically, 20-30.  Larger properties have more rooms to photograph, so they will generally have more photos to view.  Standard photos taken are the Exterior Front (usually 2 different angles), Exterior Back, Living Room (multiple angles), Master Bedroom, Master Bath, Dining Room, and all bedrooms.  Unless specified, the photographer will use discretion in picking the best photos for our clients.  But feel free to make requests – we are always happy to include special features or customized sessions.

Do you retain the copyrights of your images or are those transferred to me upon sale?

We believe in simplifying this process. You may use the images any way you see fit as long as you are the listing agent– short of selling the images to another party. You have wide leverage for your marketing and promotional needs.

Do I need to meet you at the property to give you access?

Yes, you can meet me, have the owner let me in or send me a lockbox code. If you wish to stay on site until I finish, it is your prerogative, but I can lock up and send you a text when I am finished.

Can you Photoshop out my undesirable elements?

Photoshop is an amazing tool and we include this retouch and revision process as part of our pricing. However, Photoshop is not a replacement for a photo ready house.

Do you photograph vacation properties?

Yes! With only 20 seconds to capture a potential audience with a view, the visual images you use to market your property are extremly important. A potential guest needs to experience your property almost instantly. Our photos can help you present not only the property itself, but also the experience it can offer.

How are the photos delivered to me, and what is the delivery time?

All of the photos will be delivered to you via email the day after the shoot.

How far in advance should I book my shoot?

A one week notice should be more than sufficient, to schedule a preferred date and time. I can sometimes accommodate last minute requests, but it is best not to rely on this for tight timelines. The more notice you give the better; we aim to accommodate your needs.

Call, text, or email us anytime for a schedule. If we don't answer your call, please leave us a voice mail.
